Definition : 1. Forming or affording a shade; shady; shaded; as, umbrageous trees or foliage. Umbrageous grots and caves Of cool recess, o'er which the mantling vine Lays forth her purple grape. Milton.
2. Not easily perceived, as if from being darkened or shaded; obscure. [Obs.] Sir H. Wotton.
